With a clear social intervention mandate, United Bank for Africa Plc, recently empowered some of its many customers by rewarding their loyalty with millions in its Super Savers promotion, Precious Ugwuzor reports

For United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc, its purpose-built foundation has a clear mandate for social intervention in the communities and countries in which the bank operates.

In one such intervention, the bank recently rewarded its customers in a life-changing raffle where customers won millions of naira and other cash prizes. Rewarding loyal customers has not only made a huge impact on them, but has also transformed their lives.

Super Savers DrawSo, in its just-concluded Super Savers promotional draw, Africa Global Bank rewarded its customers with N16.6 million in cash prizes.
The computerized draw held on Friday at the Tony Elumelu Amphitheater at UBA Headquarters was watched by members of the press as well as representatives of the National Lottery Regulatory Commission (NLRC) and Council Consumer Protection (CPC).
UBA Personal Banking Manager Ogechi Altraide, who congratulated all the winners after the draw, said the bank aims to put a smile on its customers’ faces, while encouraging them to cultivate a culture of saving.
She says; “At UBA, we encourage our clients to embrace the culture of saving, to be able to fulfill their dreams, while setting something aside for the future. This time around, we’ve given away huge prizes as we can see today; with the aim of appreciating our customers who believe in us and have entrusted their funds to the bank.
Altraide encouraged customers who did not win this time to prepare for the next draws which will be announced shortly. “If you didn’t win today, there are more chances to win; as UBA has monthly; quarterly and even targeted draws; and therefore, I advise new customers to log on promptly by dialing *919*20 to be qualified to participate,” she said.

Exceptional harvest A breakdown of the prizes included 12 new millionaires who took home a total of N13.2 million; 1 person received N500,000; 20 Bumper account holders smiled with N100,000 each for a total of N2 million; 10 savings account customers had a chance to win 1 million naira for a total of 10 million naira; and five NextGen customers will receive N15,000 per person each month for a year, for a total of N900,000.
For the Bumper account raffle, UBA Bumper account holder Elisha Zari Yusuf won the N2m prize; Naomi Ogoma Aba, another loyal customer of the bank, won N1.2 million; while Veronica Misimawu Logbo was rewarded with N500,000 in the draws.
The 20 winners of N100,000 each were: Oluchukwu Philomena Aliuna; Olewu Stella Chinyere; Sola Friday Bamidele; Sarafadeen Emitomo Sunkanmi; Jamila Usman; Rabiu Ibrahim Mahammed; Fine Ughelli; Anietie Sunday Akaninyi; Gloria Folake Oteji; Rabiu Ahmed Imam; Prestige Chukwuemeka Chima; Ifeanyi Okechukwu; Titilayo Mufutiat Leyeni; Aminat Abisola Adenusi; Nasir Umar Ismail; Musa Salisu; Chibueze Emeka; Ali Isla; Onireti Babatunde Charles and Ayoola Daniel Oyemomiliara.
In the case of UBA savings account holders, the following customers were lucky and thanked the bank for what some of them described as “a life-changing opportunity.” They are: Thecular Uchechi Ibekwere; Gabriel Okeke; Yemi C Adeniran; Adeniran Rauf Akinade; Samuel Mercy Kumpes; Isah Shuaibu; Adewale M Olayiwola; Kingsley C Nnaka; Anene Dubem and Ugbede Z Muhammed, each winning 1 million naira
Additionally, each of the following five NextGen account holders; Ramotu Momodu; Oluwatomiwa Abigeal Ogunsanu; Iliyasu Abdullahi Abdullahi Ibrahim; Emediong Ime Asuquo and Esther Benjamin won a monthly stipend of N15,000 for a period of 12 months.

Satisfied customersAs expected, the winners were very happy to learn of their victory. Contacted by phone, one of the winners, Emediong Asuquo, expressed her gratitude to the bank for the prize, adding that she was very excited.
